The HOT TOPIC… Second Life. This very popular, Free Virtual Reality Internet program has become quite an educational resource tool for many higher educational institutions. According to the Wired Web for Virtual Reality data, hundreds of Universities such as Princeton, Harvard, and even my own Colorado University are using Second Life technology to educate learners who enter the virtual world…

secondlife_narrowweb__300x45401.jpgIf you don’t know, Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely created by its local residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of resident users from around the globe.

With its virtual reality world, the avatars or computer animated characters, welcome you to the college campus by talking and sending you text messages. Through active interactions — they can educate users by offering beautiful virtual college campus tours, and can even offer you detailed information about the universities courses & degrees programs that are offered. It is a fun, wonderful Internet program to educate students or the general public about campus life, and activities, among many other features.

You may want to check out Second Life for yourself. It’s pretty cool stuff! Visit: http://secondlife.com/
